Artistic Research Week 25 – 27 JANUARY 2022
Embodiment
Artistic research is inherently an embodiment of ideas, materials, subjectivities, actions, and questions. By looking directly at the forms and functions of embodiment through the arts, we can enhance our ability to recognize and to utilize reflection as a process during the creative processes.
Artistic research is an integrated part of the activities at Oslo National Academy of the Arts and plays a central role in forging a unified artistic community. Our Artistic Research Week aims to contribute to a wider understanding of the nature of artistic research, to showcase what is being developed here at the Academy of the Arts, and how this research relates to greater disciplinary and socio-cultural contexts. It also aims to increase the discursive level on artistic research, through sharing experiences, insights and knowledge that is generated through practice-based research with faculties, students and a wider audience.
Artistic Research Week 2022 will take place as a digital public program. Register now for access to all digital events !
Limited presence is available for selected performance events. See session page for separate event registration link.

Choreography and the ‘felt sense of making’: A Conversation with Jonathan Burrows, Guido Orgs, Rosalind Golderg and Bojana Cvejić
Within the field of dance studies perceiving and acting have often been split, creating false division between the dancer and the dance. This binary limits choreographic understanding and the understanding of why people like to dance. It has grown out of outmoded physiological and neurological understandings that held sensory perception to be primary and reduced motor skills to a mechanical afterthought.
Eliot Moleba, “Alternative Histori[es]: A Place Where Something Happened”, Presentation/Workshop/Exhibition, Department of Theatre.
This artistic research project is aimed at exploring narrative accounts of Norwegians who self-identify with a multicultural and/or immigration background(s). It has been collecting stories of their lived experiences, with special interest in an event that happened in a public space and has been experienced as a life changing moment.

Lars Erik Holter, "Misterio Buffo",Performance, Department of Theatre.
Postponed until further notice
